Burglary at a Local Church

On July 6, 2016 and July 7, 2016, at the conclusion of a joint investigation between the Milford Police Criminal Division and the Delaware State Police Property Crimes Unit and along with the assistance of Dover PD, the Milford Police arrested a 24yo Georgetown man and a 24yo Milford man in connection with a Burglary that occurred at a local church on April 17, 2016. On July 5, 2016 Christopher Willey (of Georgetown) and on July 7, 2016 Christopher Carter (of Milford) were charged with Burglary 3rd Degree (2 counts), Possession of Burglar Tools, Theft $1500.00 or Greater, Theft Under $1500.00 victim is 62yo or older, Conspiracy 2nd Degree and Criminal Mischief $1000 to $5000. Police state that investigation revealed that both Willey and Carter gained entry into the church (located on Old Shawnee Rd) by damaging the exterior of the building. While inside, they used various tools they brought to dismantle the church’s safe and remove an undisclosed amount of US currency. Detectives later discovered evidence connecting both Willey and Carter to the burglary. Willey was arraigned and committed to SCI in default of $9,000.00 secured bond. Carter was arraigned and released on $10,000.00 unsecured bond.
