Arrested After Drug Investigation

On August 8, 2016 the Milford Police Department’s Drugs, Vice, and Organized Crime Unit arrested Fhungel J. Smith, 36 of Milford, following a drug investigation conducted by detectives. Mr. Smith was contacted by detectives from the Milford Police Department and the Delaware Capitol Police on a traffic stop on Linstone Lane. A subsequent search of Mr. Smith’s vehicle revealed 65 bags of Heroin and an undisclosed amount of United States Currency. Following the search of the vehicle, a search warrant was executed by detectives at an apartment at Silver Lake Estates in which 2 grams of marijuana was located and drug paraphernalia. Mr. Smith was charged with Possession with the Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Driving While Suspended. Mr. Smith was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court #2, where bail was set at $6000.00 secured. Mr. Smith has since been committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution. Mr. Smith is scheduled to appear for a Preliminary Hearing at the Kent County Court of Common Pleas on August 12, 2016.
