Arrest Following Drug Investigation

On September 5, 2016 officers from the Milford Police Department arrested Jimmy F. Artis Jr, 28 of Milford, following an investigation into drug sales that was conducted by the Milford Police Department’s Drugs, Vice, and Organized Crime Unit. Warrants had been obtained and were of file as a result of this investigation. On September 5, 2016 officers assigned to the Patrol Division were conducting patrols in the downtown area and observed Mr. Artis. Mr. Artis was taken into custody without incident. Mr. Artis has been charged with two counts of Manufactures, Delivers, or Possession with the Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Mr. Artis was arraigned at the Justice of the Peace Court #3 in Georgetown, where bail was set at $200.00 unsecured on the Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and $40,000 cash only on the two counts of Manufactures, Delivers, or PWID a Controlled Substance. Mr. Artis has been committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution. Mr. Artis is scheduled to appear at the Kent County Court of Common Pleas on September 9, 2016 for a Preliminary Hearing.
