Terry Campus Offers Free Placement Screening for
Young Adult Education & Employment Opportunity Program

The Delaware Tech Terry Campus is offering a free placement screening for an education and employment opportunity program being offered at no cost to individuals 16-24 years old who are not currently enrolled in school and are either underemployed or unemployed. The Out of School Youth program is offered at no cost through a partnership with the state’s Department of Labor Workforce Development Board. Students will have the opportunity to develop personal and professional skills and enhance marketability and competitiveness in the workplace.

The assessment screening, which does not require pre-registration, will be offered on campus in Building 200 at 9 a.m. on Monday, September 26, 2016. The assessment will last approximately 3.5 hours. Adult learners over the age of 24 are also encouraged to attend the assessment screening and receive information about Adult Basic Education options.

Out of School Youth participants will obtain a GED® and earn industry-recognized certificates, participate in entrepreneurial education and leadership development opportunities, take financial literacy workshops and complete up to 262 hours of occupational training through paid work experience and internships. Upon completion of the program, individuals will be workforce ready and prepared to continue their post-secondary education.

The Out of School Youth program is funded by the Workforce Development Board. For additional information on the program or placement screening assessments, please contact program staff at (302) 857-1500.
