Delaware Technical Community College Terry Campus has scheduled its annual Gourmet Gala for Saturday, October 15, 2016. This event is an elegant, black tie-optional affair that offers attendees specialty food and beverages from some of Delaware’s finest restaurants, breweries, vintners and distillers. The Gala will be held in the on-campus Del-One Conference Center from 6 until 10:30 PM.

“Funds generated by the Gourmet Gala support student success on the Terry Campus by enhancing the college’s ability to offer educational opportunities and activities for its diverse student body, along with scholarships and the ability to purchase state-of-the-art equipment to maintain classrooms and learning labs,” John Painter, Terry Campus Public Relations Manager said. “In addition to a variety of specialty food items and beverages, attendees will enjoy live entertainment by To The Max, an energetic club and dance band. There will also be a silent auction, as well as a raffle for a four-digit black and white license plate.”

The Gourmet Gala began 13 years ago when the Terry Campus wanted to hold an elegant fund raising event to help generate funds for students in the community who needed assistance in attaining their higher education goals. Mr. Painter said that the Gourmet Gala has become a much anticipated event in the area, allowing businesses to partner with Delaware Tech to provide access, opportunity and excellence to students in the area.

“Scholarship recipients pursue degrees in all fields of study, including today’s fast-growing, high-demand areas such as surgical technology, renewable energy, information security, nursing and entrepreneurship,” Mr. Painter said. “Our Gala committee members, honorary chairs Nancy and Dan Shevock, as well as the many volunteers and administrative services team put a tremendous amount of work and effort into creating a wonderful environment for the evening.”
Mr. Painter said that sponsorship opportunities are still available and silent auction donations are always welcome. He said that sponsoring the gala is a great way to be recognized for a company or individual’s vision while also helping create a competent workforce through education. It is also possible to host a table of family, friends or clients while enjoying an elegant evening of exceptional food, wine, microbrews, music and dancing. Major sponsors include Del-One Federal Credit Union, Discover and Bayhealth.

Tickets are available for the event and are $125 each. Tickets may be purchased by calling 302-857-1125 or online at www.go.dtcc.edu/gourmetgala.
