Forgery Investigation Leads to Arrest


On December 7, 2016 Milford Police arrested Christopher Thomas, 22 of Lincoln, following an investigation into a forgery at a local bank. According to police, on December 7, 2016 Mr. Thomas entered a Milford area bank and attempted to cash a check that appeared suspicious to the bank employee. Bank staff immediately notified Milford Police and a responding officer investigated the matter further determining the transaction was fraudulent and Mr. Thomas had previously engaged in another fraudulent transaction from the same account on 12.06.2016. Further investigation also revealed Mr. Thomas was in possession of approximately 11 grams of marijuana. Mr. Thomas was taken into custody without incident. Mr. Thomas has been charged with 2 counts of Forgery 2nd Degree, Possession of Marijuana, Theft, Attempted Theft, and Receiving Stolen Property. Mr. Thomas was presented at the Justice of the Peace Court #2, where bail was set at $7250.00 unsecured. Mr. Thomas is scheduled for a Preliminary Hearing at the Kent County Court of Common Pleas on December 16, 2016.
