MHS students in Ms. Robyn Sturgeon’s & Ms. Chrissy Layton’s Geometry class completed a variety of community “Geometry Projects.” Students were asked to do something they enjoy and bless someone with their gifts. In the process, they had to turn in a portfolio, with essay, timeline, and photos, that demonstrated their knowledge of at least 5 geometry objectives that have been covered in class this year. In addition, powerpoints were created and presented to classmates.
One group of students danced for the residents at Genesis Healthcare-Milford Center and brought over 30 gift boxes filled with warm, colorful socks. Many faces were filled with smiles. Another group of students collected items for “Code Purple” and presented these donations to the Code Purple representative to help Milford’s homeless. Other students in the class gave gifts and volunteered at the SPCA, raised $81 for St. Jude, and created a children’s geometry book.
