On January 24, 2017 at approximately 9:20 pm officers from the Milford Police Department’s Patrol Division responded to the 500 block of McColley Street to a report of an attempted burglary. According to police, investigation revealed an unknown suspect attempted to gain entry to a residence, but fled once he was discovered by an occupant of that residence. The suspect reportedly fled in a northwesterly direction from the home and was unable to be located by responding officers after a search of the area. The suspect did not gain entry into the residence and none of the occupants were harmed. The suspect was described as a male and wearing all gray clothing, 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall, with an average build. Milford Police urge anyone with information about this incident to call 302.42.8081 or Crime Stoppers at 1.800.TIP.3333. Tips can also be submitted online at MilfordPoliceDE.org/tips
