February MHS Senior Spotlight

By Patrick Helmick

Summer Arthurs is an extremely involved leader with endless potential. Summer in her senior year was a cross country captain, where she used the leadership traits she has gained from the Presidency of the Leo Club and her time with MHS student government. In addition to the aforementioned clubs, Summer is also part of the Varsity club and a Blue/Gold Ambassador.

The time management skills do not stop there, because Summer is also an honor roll student, a member of the National Honor Society, and is currently taking three AP courses. She will also participate in track this spring.

Arthurs’ main focus at Milford High School is to maximize her education and potential as a student and a person in preparation for college. The quote that motivates Arthurs stands as a perfect metaphor for all of her hard work. Her favorite quote is by Thomas Paine: “The mind once enlightened cannot again become dark.”

When asked about her favorite Teacher or Coach at the high school, Summer replied that it is Coach Bob Spath, Head Cross Country and Basketball Coach. When notified about Summer being this month’s Senior Spotlight, Coach Spath said, “It would be hard to find a more committed runner and dedicated student. I am very proud of her.”

Looking forward, Athurs has been accepted to the University of Delaware. At UD Arthurs will be focusing on her major of Neuroscience. We all wish Summer Arthurs much success in her senior year and look forward to the success that will follow her.
