Arrested After Shoplifting From Local Businesses

On March 16, 2017 at 8:27 p.m., Milford Police Department Patrol Division responded to Redner’s Market reference to a shoplifting. Investigation revealed that the store manager allegedly observed the suspect, Patricia Jones, 54 of Milford, DE, shoplift several items from the store by placing the items into a grocery bag of another customer and then exited the store. Patrol Officers made contact with Jones and she was taken into custody without incident.

As officers were on scene at Redner’s Market, they were approached by an employee of Cypress Wine and Spirits, which is located next to Redner’s Market. The employee advised that Jones had allegedly attempted to shoplift from their business prior to her going into Redner’s, but she was confronted by store management and the merchandise was recovered.

Jones was transported to Milford Police Department, where she was issued two criminal summons for Shoplifting under $1500.00 USC. She was given an arraignment date in Justice of the Peace Court 6 for April 11, 2017 at 9 a.m.
