Chamber’s First Major 2017 Event

By Jo Schmeiser

The first major event hosted by the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Milford is the annual Business Expo, which is set for Thursday March 30. The event will run from 5 to 7 pm in the Carlisle Fire Company, Grier Building located at 615 NW Front Street in Milford.

One of the many great things about the CCGM Business Expo is that is free, open to the public, and attendees can meet over 30 businesses in one place. Chairperson Donna Stalvey, with Event Sponsors Satterfield and Ryan Electrical Contractors, who are one of the vendors, says she is excited to work with so many chamber members who come together to show off their goods and services to people not only from Milford, but from all over Delmarva. She says as so many people are moving to the area, and more and more businesses are affiliated with the CCGM, it’s a perfect opportunity to make the connection between businesses and consumers. Donna, who has served as the Expo Chairperson for several years, says it’s always fun for her to meet new members as well, and find out what they have to offer. She also says she’s really happy from the support of this year’s Corporate Sponsor, the Dover Federal Credit Union, who has lots of exciting things to offer, and look forward to this event to showcase their new and existing services.

Another great thing, both vendors and attendees really enjoy at our Expo, is that each vendor offers a door prize. Attendees can go to every booth, enter to win, and can win as many times as there are vendors. In addition to vendors ranging from contractors to computers, and from financial institutions to a foster care organization, Mr. BBQ, Carl’s Gourmet Hots and Delmarva Popcorn will be offering free tastes for attendees. The Carlisle Fire Dept. will be offering free water and will also have a cash bar available for those who would like a cocktail.

New this year will be NKS Distributors, who will be offering tastes one of their most popular adult beverages. Also new this year, C.M. Baker’s Shasta Shutterbug will be at the event offering free souvenir photo booth strips. There will also be 50/50 tickets available to purchase, and last year the winner walked away with a few hundred dollars.
