On March 28, 2017 at approximately 1527 hours, Milford Police Department Patrol Division investigated a terroristic threatening incident that occurred at the Stevenson House Detention Center, located at 750 N DuPont Blvd. Milford, DE, involving a staff member and a resident of the facility. Investigation revealed that on two separate occasions between March 25, 2017 and March 28, 2017, the suspect, identified as Jordan Smith, 18 of Camden, DE, had allegedly threatened to do bodily harm that would result in death or serious physical injury to the victim while he was incarcerated inside the Stevenson House or if he saw the victim after he was released from the Stevenson House. Smith also allegedly threatened to do bodily harm that would result in death or serious physical injury to the victim’s family once he was released from the Stevenson House. According to police, investigation revealed that the victim had genuine concern for the safety of his family and himself in the event that Smith was released from custody at the Stevenson House. Due to the above incidents, a warrant was obtained for Smith for two counts of Terroristic Threatening.

On March 29, 2017, Smith was taken into custody by Milford Police Department Patrol Division and transported to Milford Police Department where he was charged with the above charges. He was arraigned through Justice of the Peace Court 2 and was released on $1000.00 USC unsecured bail on these charges. Smith was transported back to the Stevenson House Detention Center where he had been ordered held on cash bail reference to an unrelated incident. Smith will have a future court date in Kent County Court of Common Pleas in reference to this case.
