Arrested For Shoplifting, Breach Of Release

On 05/27/2017 at approximately 1:10 p.m., Milford Police Department Patrol Division was dispatched to Walmart located at 939 N DuPont Blvd. Milford, Kent County, DE reference to a shoplifting in progress. Patrol Officers responded to the scene and made contact with the suspect, identified as John Cusack, 56 of Lincoln, and loss prevention staff. Investigation revealed that Cusack allegedly selected items to purchase from the store and then responded to the self-checkout counter and allegedly only purchased a few items and shoplifted the other items from the store. It was also learned that Cusack currently had an active no contact order with Walmart stemming from a previous incident.

Cusack was taken into custody without incident and charged with Breach of Release and Shoplifting under $1500. Cusack was arraigned through Justice of the Peace Court 7 and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution in default of $150.00 USC secured bail. He was also given another no contact order with Walmart. Cusack will have a future court appearance in Kent County Court of Common Pleas in reference to this case.
