Shoplifting Investigation Leads to Arrest

Herbert L. White, 59, of Milford was arrested on May 27, 2017, after Milford Police investigated a shoplifting, that allegedly occurred at the Milford Walmart, located at 939 N. DuPont BLVD. A witness observed Mr. White conceal several items belonging to Walmart and exit the store without paying for the items. The witness subsequently reported the incident to Milford Police. Officers Made contact with Mr. White in the Walmart Parking lot and through further investigation Officers Learned that White also had two active capiases for his arrest. The capiases were for failure to appear at Kent County Superior Court and failure to pay on a traffic charge. Officers took White into custody without incident and transported him to the Milford Police Department.

White was charged with Shoplifting and was issued a criminal summons. He’s scheduled to be arraigned on 06/13/2017, at The Justice of The Peace Court #6. White was also arraigned at The Justice of the Peace Court #7 for his active capiases. He was given a $3,500.00 secured bail and committed to The Sussex Correctional Institute.
