Rape Investigation Leads to Arrest

 

On June 29, 2017, Detectives from the Milford Police Department’s Criminal Division arrested a 36 year old Frederica man following an investigation into an alleged sexual assault of a minor. On June 29, 2017 at approximately 10:09 am, officers from the Milford Police Department’s Patrol Division responded to the area of Fisher Avenue and Southeast Front Street (SR 36) after a report was received of a juvenile who had been sought after being reported as a runaway was seen in a stationary vehicle in the area. Officers made contact with the juvenile and Denord Desir, 36 of Frederica, DE. Further investigation revealed the two had reportedly been in a room at the Days Inn on North DuPont Highway (US Rt 113) prior to being contacted by police. While in the room at the Days Inn, it’s been alleged Mr. Desir sexually assaulted the victim. Mr. Desir has been charged with four counts of Rape Third Degree. Mr. Desir was presented at the Justice of the Peace Court #2, where bail was set at $60,000.00 secured along with a no contact order with the victim and any person under the age of 18. Mr. Desir has been committed to the custody of the Delaware Department of Correction at the Sussex Correctional Institution. Mr. Desir is scheduled for a Preliminary Hearing on 07.14.2017 at the Kent County Court of Common Pleas.
