The City of Milford’s contractor, Diamond Materials of Newport, DE, has completed the first phase of the Airport Road Rehabilitation Project. The section between DuPont Blvd (US 113) and Roosa Road will reopen to traffic on Monday, July 31, 2017, one week earlier than anticipated.
The next phase of the project, D3, will begin July 31, 2017 and will close Roosa Road to Delaware Mosquito Control entrance until August 13, 2017. During this phase, the intersection of Walmart Road and Airport Road will be closed to traffic. Traffic during this phase will be directed to Bowman Road and to US 113.
The sectional closures in the future are anticipated as follows:
Phase D 2 and D 1 – Between Cascades Lane and Delaware State Mosquito Control. This phase will be done in three separate sections to allow access to businesses and residents along the roadway. Traffic during this phase will be directed to Bowman Road and to US 113 beginning August 12 through September 8.
Phase C – Between Bowman Road and Cascades Lane. This phase will be done in two sections to provide access to businesses and will divert traffic using Canterbury, Bowman, and US 113. Projected time frame is September 7 through October 6.
Phase B – Between Delaware Veterans Blvd and Canterbury Road. Traffic during this phase will be directed to Bowman Road and to US 113 beginning October 5 through November 8.
Phase A – Between Delaware Veterans Blvd and Bowman Road. During this phase the detour will be through the Milford Industrial Park using Mullet Run and Brent Jordan Way, and will be done in two separate phases to allow access to the Jehovah Witness Church beginning November 5 through November 30.
