On July 28, 2017, the Milford Police Department Patrol Division responded to Walmart, located at 939 N DuPont Blvd. reference to a late reported shoplifting case. Investigation revealed that a female wearing a black hoody and black tights allegedly shoplifted merchandise from the store. At the time of the report, the female suspect was unknown to officers.
On August 2, 2017 the Patrol Division was dispatched to Walmart again for a shoplifting in progress complaint. As officers were responding to the scene, they were given a description of the female suspect who had allegedly shoplifted several items from the store and was now walking through the parking lot. When units arrived on scene, they made contact with the female suspect in the parking lot that was identified by the reporting person as the suspect. It was discovered that the female suspect was an Ariel Robbins, 25, of Milford, DE. It was learned that she had allegedly concealed 11 items and shoplifted them from the store with a total less than $1500 USC. She was taken into custody in reference to the theft.
Robbins was transported back to Milford PD where she was charged with Theft under $1500 USC. She was arraigned through Justice of the Peace Court 2 and released on $500 USC unsecured bail with a no contact order with Walmart. She was order to appear in Justice of the Peace Court 6 at a later date in reference to this case. It was also learned that she had a capias out of Sussex County court of Common Pleas. She was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in reference to her capias.
On August 9, 2017 Officers located Robbins in the area of the Express Car Wash located at 916 N DuPont Blvd. Milford, DE 19963. As officers took Robbins into custody on her outstanding warrant, she began to resist arrest and attempted to break free of her handcuffs. She was taken into custody without further incident and transported back to Milford PD. Once at Milford PD, she resisted arrest in the parking lot and control was gained and she was brought into the police department and secured.
Robbins was arrested on the 07/28/2017 shoplifting case and charged with one count of Shoplifting Under $1500- Remove Goods, Wares or Merchandise. She was also charged with two counts of Resisting Arrest. It was also learned that she had two capiases out of the Justice of the Peace Court 6. She was arraigned through Justice of the Peace Court 2 and released on $1000.00 USC unsecured bail with another no contact order with Walmart in reference to the shoplifting charge. She was released on $2000.00 USC unsecured bail on the resisting arrest charges. She was ordered to appear at a later date in Kent County Court of Common Pleas on the new charges. In reference to her capiases, she was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $200.00 USC secured bail.
