Search Warrant Leads to Arrest of 3

 

On September 6, 2017, The Milford Police Department Drug Unit with the assistance of the Criminal Investigations Unit and Patrol Division executed a search warrant on a room at the Traveler’s Inn Motel located at 1036 N Walnut St. This search warrant stemmed from an investigation into the sale of heroin and prostitution from that particular room. The primary suspect, Dwight Donaldson, 66 of Milford, DE, was taken into custody at the motel office without incident. From there, contact was made with a Melinda Reed, 29 of Milford, DE, and Sarah Reed, 23 of Milford, DE in the room where the search warrant was executed and they were taken into custody. During a search of the room, suspected heroin and related drug paraphernalia were located. Also in the room, items related to prostitution were discovered. During a search of Donaldson, an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency was located on his person, which was alleged to be proceeds from the sale of illicit and prostitution. Further investigation confirmed that Melinda Reed had been involved in prostitution using that room.

Donaldson, Melinda Reed, and Sarah Reed were all charged with Manufactures Or Possession With Intent To Deliver A Counterfeit Substance and Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia (Non-Marijuana). Melinda Reed was also charged with Prostitution. All were arraigned through Justice of the Peace Court 7. Donaldson was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution (SCI) on $1100.00 USC secured bail. Melinda Reed was committed to SCI on $1200.00 USC secured bail. Sarah Reed was committed to SCI on $1500.00 USC secured bail. All were given future court dates in Kent County Court of Common Pleas in reference to this case.
