In recognition of their support and dedication to the Delaware Tech Terry Campus, Dion and Susan Williams of Camden-Wyoming have been named Honorary Chairpersons of this year’s Gourmet Gala, the premier fundraising event for the campus. The Gala will be held Saturday, October 21, 2017 in the on-campus Del-One Conference Center, which recently underwent an extensive renovation.
The Gourmet Gala is an elegant, black tie-optional affair that offers guests a wonderful array of specialty food and beverages. The evening will also feature live entertainment from the Doug Segree Band, a silent auction, and the drawing of the winning ticket for a $1,000 Grand Dining Experience raffle.
Money raised through the Gala enhances the ability of the Terry Campus to offer educational opportunities and activities to its diverse student body, provide scholarships, and source the funds needed to purchase state-of-the-art equipment for classrooms and learning labs.
“Susan and I are humbled by the opportunity to serve the Terry Campus as Honorary Chairs. Delaware Tech is committed to its students, communities throughout the state of Delaware, and businesses in those communities,” said Mr. Williams, President/CEO of Del-One Federal Credit Union. “The College reaches out to the business community and seeks to partner on programs that provide a well-equipped work force. Delaware Tech is responsive, adaptive, and prepares students for jobs that are in demand today, and those jobs stay at home in Delaware.”
The Williams also laud Delaware Tech for its support of military members, veterans and their families.
“Delaware Tech supports veterans in word and deed,” Mr. Williams said. “Veterans make sacrifices many of us cannot fathom, so it’s a privilege to support Delaware Tech, knowing they are military friendly through scholarship programs, curriculum, and outreach to employers. Susan grew up in a military household so she understands first-hand about those sacrifices.”
Mr. Williams is involved with the College’s Business Advisory Board and is also a member of the Terry Campus Development Council. He and Mrs. Williams, who is Challenge 1 Director at Classical Conversations in Dover, have been regular attendees of the Gourmet Gala since 2011 and also routinely support the Chocolate 5K held annually in February.
Gourmet Gala tickets are $125 each and can be purchased online at go.dtcc.edu/gourmetgala or by calling (302) 857-1125.
