Barricaded Subject in Lincoln

Update # 3 – At approximately 1:25 p.m. a 66-year-old male was taken into custody upon exiting the residence. He is currently being transported to an area hospital for evaluation.

Detectives continue to investigate this incident and charges may be forthcoming. Johnson Road is still closed between US113 and North Old State Road and an update will be sent when it is re-opened.

Update #2 – The Delaware State Police continue to operate on Johnson Road in Lincoln. The subject continues to remain barricaded inside the residence possibly armed with an unknown type firearm.

Special Operations Response Teams and Conflict Management Teams are attempt to make contact with the male subject and are continuing to attempt to persuade him to surrender.

Residents in the area remain evacuated and Johnson Road between US113 and North Old State Road remain closed.

According to Superintendent Kevin Dickerson of the Milford School District, nearby Morris Early Childhood Center will be closed today, Wednesday, October 4 out of precaution.

The Delaware State Police are currently operating in the 18000 block of Johnson Road for a report of a possibly armed barricaded subject located in a residence.

The incident began at approximately 1:03 a.m. this morning, Wednesday October 4, 2017, when troopers were called to the residence to check on the welfare of an unstable male subject alone in the house.

Troopers continue to assess the situation with no further details available at this time.

Several residences in the area of the incident have been evacuated as a precaution. Johnson Road is currently closed between DuPont Boulevard (US113) and North Old State Road.  Motorists are advised to avoid the area and seek alternate routes of travel.

This is a preliminary release of information with additional updates as information is received.
