Second Street Players (SSP) is partnering with the shadow cast Formal Dress Optional as they present the cult classic Rocky Horror Picture Show on Friday October 13. The performance will be held at the Riverfront Theatre, 2 S Walnut Street in downtown Milford, DE.
Formal Dress Optional is Delaware’s longest running cast with over 14 years of experience. Audience members are encouraged to come dressed and ready and the organization recommends that newcomers search online for the Virgin’s Guide to Rocky Horror to help prepare for the fun.
Props will be included in the ticket price, so event goers are asked to please not bring their own. Costumes are encouraged, but the film is rated R, so children are not. SSP’s concession stand will be open and offering wine, beer, soda and snacks for the audience’s pleasure throughout the evening.
The cult classic has been entertaining audience since the movie premiered in 1975. Since then, theaters have been showing the movie across the country for decades bringing laughter and smiles to people’s faces. SSP hopes to do just the same.
“With the Schwartz Center in Dover closing we want to make sure this iconic film experience had a venue so this area could still experience it.,” said Josh Gross, President of Second Street Players. He stated that this movie experience is full of fun and being part of the cult classic makes everyone happy. “Everyone that comes should be prepared for a lot of fun. Formal Dress Optional is a group that lives Rocky Horror and it shows in their performance.”
The Rocky Horror Picture Show at Second Street Players will occur on Friday, October 13 at 9 PM. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased online at brownpapertickets.com or by calling the box office at 800-838-3006. Tickets will also be available at the door until they are sold out. The performances will be held at the Riverfront Theatre, 2 S Walnut Street in downtown Milford, DE.
