Domestic Situation Leads To Arrest

On 10.13.2017 officers from the Milford Police Department’s Patrol Division responded to a residence in the 100 block of McColley Street to a report of a domestic situation. Upon arrival officers made contact with Joshua A. Johnson, 20 of Greenwood, and the victim. Mr. Johnson failed to cooperate with responding officers. As Mr. Johnson attempted to leave the area of one of the officers and go towards the victim, who was holding a child, Mr. Johnson hit the arm of the officer who was trying to prevent him making contact with the two. As the officer attempted to take Mr. Johnson into custody, he continued to fail to cooperate. Mr. Johnson was eventually taken into custody without further incident. Mr. Johnson has been charged with Resisting Arrest, Reckless Endangering 2nd Degree, Offensive Touching of a Law Enforcement Officer, Menacing, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Mr. Johnson was presented at the Justice of the Peace Court #2, where bail was set at $2500.00 unsecured. Mr. Johnson is scheduled to appear at the Sussex County Court of Common Pleas on 10.24.2017 for a Preliminary Hearing.
