On November 14, 2017 at approximately 2:04 am an officer from the Milford Police Department’s Patrol Division observed a vehicle northbound on South Walnut Street, in the area of Wilbur Street, being operated with an equipment violation. The officer activated all emergency equipment on the patrol vehicle in an attempt to stop the suspect vehicle. The operator of the suspect vehicle initially failed to stop, leading the patrol officer northbound on South Walnut Street, onto Maple Avenue, and eventuality stopped on South Church Street. After a brief struggle Jessica Evans, 30 of Ellendale, was taken into custody. Ms. Evans has been charged with Disregarding a Police Officer Signal, Driving a Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol, Failure to Have Two Head Lamps, Failure to Stop At a Stop Sign, and Resisting Arrest. Ms. Evans was initially presented at the Justice of the Peace Court #3 in Georgetown, where bail was set at $3502.00 secured.
