12th Annual Holiday Stroll set for December 1

Staff Report

Downtown Milford, Inc. will host the 12th Annual Holiday Stroll in historic Downtown Milford on Friday, December 1, from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

The streets of the Downtown District will be filled with strolling holiday carolers, First State Academy dancers, local entertainment, a holiday sing-along at the Music School of Delaware, and Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus at the Santa House. Refreshments and entertainment will be offered at most downtown businesses.

Attendees are encouraged to stroll the decorated three-block Downtown District with holiday trimmed store windows donning this year’s theme: Classic Christmas Cartoons.  The Milford Museum, Causey Mansion and the City Customer Service building will be the southern-most businesses open, Abbott’s Grill and It’s About Time Clock Repair the northern-most businesses and everything in between. Visit the shops, restaurants, bakery, art galleries and artists’ studios for complimentary hot cider, chocolates, seasonal treats, giveaways, sales and raffles.

“The Holiday Stroll is DMI’s first event of our fiscal year, and I don’t believe an other event would be more fitting,” Sara Pletcher, DMI Board President, stated. “It’s the epitome of the DMI mission: bringing together community to enjoy our beautified Downtown, patronize our merchants and leave with memories in hopes attendees will return again.  Plus, maybe shoppers will discover that ‘one-of-a-kind gift’ for that special someone this year.”

In keeping with the Holiday Stroll traditions, Milford is a “Community of Caring.”  The vast majority of downtown businesses and non-profits will be accepting nonperishable and monetary donations to their favorite charities.

Snow or shine and free of charge, the Holiday Stroll is an old-fashioned Christmas with small town charm.

This year’s Holiday Stroll is sponsored by Bayhealth Medical Center, the Milford Chronicle, Abbott’s Grill, Hearsay Delaware, Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #2316, Mama Maria, Richard Y. Johnson & Sons, Inc., Sandra S. Gulledge, CPA P.A. dba Tax Chicks, Wagamon Technology Group, LLC, Brendon T. Warfel Construction, DeMartin & Associates, and Michele L. Jarrell, P.A., A.B.A.
