Traffic Stop Leads To Drug Charges

On November 18, 2017 Milford Police arrested a Dover man after marijuana and drug paraphernalia were located in his vehicle during a traffic stop. On November 18, 2017 at approximately 3:36 am, an officer from the Milford Police Department’s Patrol Division observed a Honda Civic being operated on North DuPont Boulevard (US Rt 113) with expired registration. A subsequent stop of that vehicle led to an initial contact with the operator, at which time the officer noticed a smell of suspected marijuana omitting from the vehicle. Further investigation that included a search of the vehicle led 24.3 grams of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia being seized. Roschon L. Simpson, 26 of Dover, was taken into custody and charged with Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Expired Tags, and Driving While Suspended or Revoked. Mr. Simpson was presented at the Justice of the Peace Court #7, where bail was set at $210.00 unsecured. Mr. Simpson is scheduled to appear at the Kent County Court of Common Pleas on 12.20.2017 for an arraignment.
