Man Arrested For Shoplifting

 

On December 12, 2017 at 2:14 p.m., the Milford Police Department Patrol Division was dispatched to Wal-Mart, located at 939 N DuPont Blvd. Milford, DE 19963, reference to a shoplifting in progress. It was reported that Asset Protection personnel had observed a male suspect remove merchandise from the store shelves and then entered into the bathroom. When the suspect exited the bathroom, he did not have the items in his hands no longer and they were not left in the bathroom. The suspect was contacted in the Air Park Plaza Shopping Center by officers. The suspect was identified as Louis Welch, 20 of Milford, DE. Further investigation revealed that Welch was in possession of multiple pieces of merchandise that he could not provide officers with proof of purchase. Welch was also found in possession of drug paraphernalia as well. Welch was taken into custody without incident.

Welch was charged with Shoplifting Under $1500 and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia Marijuana Related. Welch had a presentment through Justice of the Peace Court 2. He was released on $1000.00 USC unsecured bail with a further court date in Kent County Court of Common Pleas. A no contact order was put into place between Welch and all Delaware Walmarts.
