Pair Arrested from Shoplifting Investigation

 

On December 9, 2017 at approximately 1:52 p.m., the Milford Police Department Patrol Division was dispatched to a shoplifting in progress at Walmart, located at 939 N DuPont Blvd. Milford, DE 19963. Officers were advised that the female suspect had concealed merchandise inside of a purse as well as white Walmart shopping bags that she obtained from the self-checkout area. It was learned that when the suspect was confront by Asset Protection personnel, she fled on foot and got into the passenger’s seat of a Gold Mercury passenger car. Officers initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle in the parking lot of Walmart. During the traffic stop, they located the stolen merchandise and identified the female suspect as Taylor O’Neal, 23 of Milford, DE. They also learned that the driver of the vehicle, who O’Neal allegedly conspired with, was a Richard White, 33 of Lincoln, DE. Both suspects were taken into custody without incident. Further investigation revealed that O’Neil had active warrants out of the Milford Police Department, Georgetown Police Department, and numerous court capiases. Search incident to arrest revealed that White was in possession of suspected Crack Cocaine. White alleged that the suspected crack cocaine belonged to O’Neal.

O’Neal was charged with Possession of Shoplifters Tools, Conspiracy 3rd Degree, Shoplifting Under $1500, and Possess A Controlled Or Counterfeit Substance Without A Prescription. White was charged with Conspiracy 3rd Degree, Shoplifting Under $1500, and Possess A Controlled Or Counterfeit Substance Without A Prescription. Both subjects had a presentment through Justice of the Peace Court 7. O’Neal was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in default of $3486.00 USC cash bail and $11,000.00 USC secured bail reference to this case along with the other outstanding warrants and capiases. She was ordered to appear in various courts reference to her cases. White was released on $1500.00 USC unsecured bail with a future court date in Kent County Court of Common Pleas.
