October Robbery Investigation Results In Arrest

On December 18, 2017 Milford Police arrested a 20 year old Milford man in connection with a robbery investigation that stemmed from an October 15th incident. On 10.15.2017 officers from the Milford Police Department’s Patrol Division responded to Wawa on North DuPont Boulevard at approximately 4:04 am to a report of a robbery. Upon arrival officers learned the suspect approached staff at the store and reportedly led them to believe he had a weapon. The suspect then demanded money from employees working the check out area. The suspect was able to obtain an undisclosed amount of money and fled the store prior to officers arrival. Further investigation that included several tips from the public led to warrants being obtained for Darren Duffy, 20 of Milford. On 12.18.2017 a tip was received about Mr. Duffy’s whereabouts and he was located in the rear of the Riverwalk Center on Northeast Front Street (SR 14). Mr. Duffy was taken into custody without incident. Mr. Duffy has been charged with Robbery First Degree and Aggravated Menacing. Mr. Duffy was presented at the Justice of the Peace Court #2, where bail was set at $56,000.00 unsecured. Mr. Duffy was also found to be wanted by the Kent County Court of Common Pleas and the Justice of the Peace Court #6. Mr. Duffy was committed to the custody of the Delaware Department of Correction at the Sussex Correctional Institution in reference to the capiases.
