Arrested After Motor Vehicle Collision

On 01/31/2018 at approximately 11:51 p.m., the Milford Police Department Patrol Division responded to a motor vehicle collision in the area of the 500 block of Marshall St. Milford, Sussex County, DE. Upon arrival, contact was made with the alleged operator of the vehicle. The operator provided a false name to officers, but through investigation, officers were able to determine that the operator of the vehicle was Calvin Allen, 26 of Milford, DE. Investigation also revealed that Allen was in possession of Heroin and drug paraphernalia at the time of the collision. Further investigation revealed that Allen appeared to be under the influence of drugs when officers made contact with him. A search warrant was obtained through the Justice of the Peace Court for a blood draw from Allen reference to a DUI investigation. After Allen was treated for injuries that he sustained during the motor vehicle collision, he was taken into custody and charged with Driving A Vehicle Under The Influence Of A Combination Of Alcohol And Any Drug, Criminal Impersonation, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Non-Marijuana), Driving While Suspended Or Revoked, Possess Consume A Controlled Or Counterfeit Substance With An Aggravating Factor, and Inattentive Driving. It was also learned that Allen had three active capiases for his arrest as well. He had a presentment through the Justice of the Peace Court 3 and was committed to the Department of Corrections in default of $2351.00 USC secured bail. He was ordered to appear in Sussex County Court of Common Pleas at a later date reference to this case.
