The Music School of Delaware announced a public celebration in honor of its Milford founders and Kent and Sussex County-area donors on Thursday, February 8, 4 to 5:30pm at its new Milford Branch location at 23 North Walnut Street in downtown Milford.

“It’s a joyful moment when the Music School honors its founders,” said Music School President and CEO Kate M. Ransom. “Rachel Grier-Reynolds and Linda Wheaton Breedlove were visionaries with a love for their community, who applied their energy and devotion to help make Milford great.”

The event serves to recognize the founders of the Music School in Milford and the generosity of donors from around the region who supported the renovation of the Music School’s new building, where it relocated in Fall 2017. Donors to be honored include Milford Branch founders, Linda Wheaton Breedlove and Rachel Grier-Reynolds, as well as donors Draper Holdings Charitable Foundation, The Burris Breedlove Family, David & Ann Burton, Dennis Silicato/Silicato Development, Peter & Joanne Harrigan, Charles & Marie Burton, John & Marion du Pont, David Molotsky, The Music School of Delaware Board of Directors and founding executive director, Michelle Peters.

“Others helped in many ways as well,” Ransom continued, “Including Michelle Peters, the first executive director and many generous donors, from yesterday and today. Together they have made possible a lasting presence of music excellence for everyone in Milford and beyond. We are indebted to all for their generosities.”

Recognition plaques will be presented and unveiled in the Recital Room, the South Wing, the North Wing and additional rooms throughout the building. The event will also include a brief student performance and a reception open to all who attend the event. The Music School invites everyone to join in the celebration. To attend the event, individuals are asked to please RSVP to Rayna Gray at 302-762-1132 or rgray@musicschoolofdelaware.org by Monday, February 5.
