This spring, Bayhealth is hosting the First Annual Bayhealth Nurse on the Run 5K Walk/Run to benefit nursing education. The event will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 10 a.m. at the Wild Quail Country Club in Camden-Wyoming, Delaware.
This fundraiser is part of Bayhealth’s participation in the American Nurses Association 2017 Year of the Healthy Nurse Challenge, which encourages nurses to be the healthiest versions of themselves. “This event is twofold as we’re encouraging a healthy lifestyle, but we’re also raising money for professional development at Bayhealth,” says Nurse Manager Stephanie McClellan, MSN, RN, CMSRN. “The money raised from this 5K will help our nurses hone their skills as caregivers, which will ultimately improve the care we provide patients and the health of the community.”
Partnering with nursing on the event is the Bayhealth Foundation, which has a history of contributing to nursing programs. “We strive to support our Bayhealth team members in any way we can. Our outstanding nursing staff is a key component of patient care, and we want to do everything we can to help our nurses continually update their education and care for themselves,” said Lindsay Rhodenbaugh, president of the Bayhealth Foundation.
While aimed at nurses, the 5K is open to everyone, including the community and is kid-friendly. Registration is $25 until March 16 and then will increase to $30 on race day. Participants will receive a TECH shift. Visit TriSportsEvents.com to register.
