Traffic Stop Results In Weapon, Drug Charges


On 04.21.2018 Milford Police arrested a Milford man after a traffic stop resulted in the seizure of heroin, marijuana, brass knuckles, pills, United States Currency, and drug paraphernalia. At approximately 2:31 pm an officer on patrol observed a vehicle being operated with an equipment violation on South DuPont Boulevard (US Rt 113). A subsequent stop of the 2005 Buick in the 600 block of Northwest Front Street (SR 14) and further investigation resulted in the seizure of 1071 bags of heroin, 30.5 grams of marijuana, pills, brass knuckles, drug paraphernalia, and United States Currency. John L. Morris, 38 of Milford, was taken into custody and has been charged with Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony, Possession of a Controlled Substance in a Tier 5 Quantity, two counts of Possession with the Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance, two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Operating a Vehicle With Improper Window Tinting, and Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon. Mr. Morris was presented at the Justice of the Peace Court #7, where bail was set at $31,251.00 secured. Mr. Morris was committed to the custody of the Delaware Department of Correction at the Sussex Correctional Institution and is scheduled to appear at the Kent County Court of Common Pleas for a Preliminary Hearing on 04.27.2018.
