Ellendale Woman Arrested For Theft

On 06/01/2018, a Tiara Schneider, 27 of Ellendale DE, was arrested stemming from a 2017 internal theft case that occurred at an area business. On 11/29/2017, officers were dispatched to a local business reference to an internal theft investigation. The investigation revealed that the business had been audited and the reports showed that they were short several hundred dollars of product. Investigation revealed that management reviewed the surveillance footage to determine where the shortage was occurring from. Management allegedly observed Schneider conducting transactions where she would select an option on the cash register that opened the register and then would set customer’s money to the side and give them change from the register. Then Schneider would allegedly place the customer’s money in her pocket or a bag that she had. Management also alleged that Schneider stole merchandise from the store as well. They advised that the theft occurred between 11/13/2017- 11/27/2017. Officers obtained a warrant for Schneider reference to this incident.

On 06/01/2018, Schneider was charged with Theft Under $1500. It was also learned that Schneider had several active court capiases for her arrest as well. She had a presentment through the Justice of the Peace Court 3. Schneider received a $500.00 unsecured bail and no contact order with her previous employer reference to the charges in this case, but was committed to the Department of Corrections in default of $690.00 USC secured bail reference to her outstanding capiases. She was ordered to appear at a later date in Kent County Court of Common Pleas reference to this case.
