While the rainy spring continues the Downtown Milford, Inc. Design Committee caught a break in the weather and was able to gather 25+ volunteers their ladders and garden shovels to brighten downtown Milford. The break in the rain Sunday returned color and greenery back to the business district. The next time you are downtown or walking along then Riverwalk take the time to admire the beautiful flower baskets.
“The downtown, the Bicentennial bridge and all the lamp posts on Front Street and Walnut Street are going to look fabulous in about three weeks time,” said DMI volunteer and owner of Gallery 37, Marcia Reed. “It is all because of this incredible turnout of volunteers. Thank you Milford.”
In addition to the Design committee Milford in Bloom is made possible with the help of the staff of the City of Milford Parks and Recreation department; and most importantly, our friends and neighbors who dig into the dirt and into their pockets to supply the manpower and funds to make it all happen.
The names of all sponsors and honorees will be displayed all season on the DMI kiosk at the Riverwalk and Farmer’s Market on Walnut Street, and will appear on the DMI website, www.downtownmilford.org.
