On 6/3/2018 at approximately 8:35 p.m., the Milford Police Department Patrol Division met with a Vanessa Diaz, 34 of Milford DE, reference to an assault that occurred at a residence in the 200 block of North St. Milford, Kent County, DE. Diaz advised that she responded to the residence to see her children and while she was there a fight ensued between her and one of the residents. Officers responded to the residence and made contact with the residents present. Officers learned that Diaz had responded to the residence to see her children, but was asked to leave numerous times by the homeowner due to previous issues that Diaz had caused. Diaz refused to leave the residence and then engaged in a physical altercation with one of the residents. After the altercation, Diaz finally left the residence. Investigation revealed that two children were asleep inside the residence and were awoken by the arguing and observed the physical altercation occur. The victim did have physical injury from the assault, but declined medical treatment. Due to the information learned in the investigation, officers obtained a warrant for Diaz reference to this incident.

Diaz turned herself into Milford PD on 06/03/2018 and was charged with one count of Assault 3rd Degree and two counts of Endangering The Welfare Of A Child. Diaz had a presentment through Justice of the Peace Court 7, where she was released on $1200.00 USC unsecured bail with a no contact order with all victims involved in the case. She was ordered to appear at a later date in the Kent County Court of Common Pleas reference to this incident.
