Physical Altercation Results in Charges

On 08.07.2018 Milford Police arrested a 32 year old Milford man after warrants were obtained as part of an investigation into a physical altercation. Investigation revealed Bruce E. Lane, 32 of Milford, allegedly confronted the victim on a sidewalk in the 200 block of Northeast Front Street (SR 14) and assaulted her. Mr. Lane fled the area but was later apprehended. Investigation also revealed Mr. Lane and the victim had an active no contact order in place issued on July 30th by Sussex County Family Court. It’s also been reported Mr. Lane allegedly followed the victim through various areas of the city prior to this occurring. Mr. Lane has been charged with Assault Second Degree, Strangulation, Stalking, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, and Breach of Release. Mr. Lane was presented at the Justice of the Peace Court #2, where bail was set at $8000.00 cash. Mr. Lane was committed to the custody of the Delaware Department of Correction at the Sussex Correctional Institution and is scheduled to appear at the Kent County Court of Common Pleas on 08.24.2018 for a Preliminary Hearing.
