Gaining skills and confidence through KSI’s Pre-Vocational program proved to Mr. Smallwood that KSI could be trusted to give him a chance. KSI helped him work through his struggles to overcome several barriers and challenges. His endurance and determination, with support from KSI’s Supported Employment team, have helped him achieve independent employment at the Dollar Tree in Camden. Now he looks forward to earning his own money, gaining more independence, and establishing new goals.
As Employee of the Quarter, Mr. Smallwood’s name has been added to a permanent plaque at KSI and he received a $50 Visa Gift Card from Dover Federal Credit Union. He also received a gift certificate donated by G & R Campground in Houston entitling him to spend a weekend in one of their cottages, and a one year aquatics membership from the Greater Milford Boys & Girls Club.
