Holiday lights twinkled, music filled the air and the streets of Milford were alive with gingerbread men, nutcrackers and people enjoying the cool, crisp evening. Downtown Milford, Inc.’s 13thAnnual Holiday Stroll brought many visitors to the downtown area where they were able to stroll through downtown and enjoy treats provided by downtown merchants.

The holiday stroll is special for so many reasons, but I think most importantly because the whole community can experience Downtown Milford during the holiday season,” said DMI President Sra Pletcher. “Our shops, galleries and restaurants are wonderful to us all year long and the holidays are a perfect time for the community to give back to our small business owners and maybe on Stroll night someone stumbled upon something they didn’t know Milford had.”

Santa and Mrs. Claus were present as well so children could give Santa their wishes for Christmas. Miniature horses, decked out in their Christmas attire, were parading Walnut St. while their handlers distributed information to children and adults alike.

Santa will be available in Downtown Milford through December 23 every Friday from 5 until 8 PM as well as Saturday and Sunday from 11 AM until 3 PM. Children aged 12 and under receive a free photo with Santa, a candy cane and a stocking filled with candy. The stockings were cut and sewn by First State Manufacturing and stuffed by Milford Senior Center volunteers. Visitors will also be entered into a drawing to win a Downtown Milford gift certificate.
