The Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting ceremony February 13 at the Kent County location of Delaware Hospice. The event celebrated a recent office expansion at 911 S. Dupont Hwy in Dover.
Delaware Hospice has served Delaware and southeastern Pennsylvania since 1982. The expansion was necessary to support the continuing growth and development of programs offered by the leading nonprofit hospice agency in the area. For 36 years, Delaware Hospice has provided the highest quality hospice and healthcare services and has served as a trusted community partner in end of life education and support.
“With the continual growth of the area, we are thrilled to have the ability to work and support more Kent County families,” commented April Ball RN, CHPN, Kent County Associate Director of Homecare Services. “The expansion allows for more collaborate space for our homecare teams to identify available resources and integrate in patient care.”
Delaware Hospice provides a multi-disciplinary team that works with the patient’s physician to develop a care plan which ensures that the patient’s and family’s needs are met. The Delaware Hospice Center in Milford offers an alternative to hospital stay, combining state of the art technology with specialized, expert care in a spacious and tranquil environment. Delaware Hospice also provides a nonmedical program for individuals living with a serious illness, palliative care that enables seriously ill patients and their families to improve quality of life by managing symptoms and anxiety, pediatric palliative care that helps younger community members navigating life with a serious illness, a children bereavement program that works to help educate on coping skills, and more.
