On 04/03/2019, the Milford Police Department’s Narcotics Unit concluded a several week investigation into the sale of illicit drugs, which resulted in a search warrant being obtained for a Blue Jeep Cherokee and two individuals that had been tied to that vehicle, Lucretia Chandler, 38 of Milford, DE, and Antonio Tyler, 39 of Milford, DE. Detectives were conducting surveillance of the Blue Jeep Cherokee which was located in the Milford Public Library Parking Lot off of S Washington St. Detectives observed both suspects approach the vehicle and grab a container from the hidden location on the exterior of the vehicle. They then observed Tyler open the container and then put it back in a hidden location on the exterior of the vehicle. Both suspects then reentered the library. When both subjects exited the library again, Detectives contacted both suspects and detained them in reference to the active search warrant for their vehicle.
During a search of the vehicle, a small black hide a key box was located in a hidden location on the exterior of the vehicle that contained suspect heroin for distribution. A search of Tyler yielded drug paraphernalia related to heroin and an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency.
Both Chandler and Tyler were transported back to Milford PD and charged with Drug Dealing , Conspiracy 2nd Degree, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Chandler and Tyler had a presentment through Justice of the Peace Court 2. Chandler was released on $5700.00 USC unsecured bail and Tyler was released on $12,200.00 USC unsecured bail. Both were issued no contact orders with the Milford Public Library. Both were ordered to appear at a later date in Sussex County Court of Common Pleas for a preliminary hearing reference to this investigation.
