Local Fugitive Arrested For Drugs


On 08/30/2019 at 1211 hours, Milford Police Department’s Drug Unit observed Ernest Johnson, 35 of Milford, DE, walking in the 400 block of North St. Detectives were aware that Johnson was currently wanted out of Kent County Superior Court on a capias for failing to appear for a hearing on a drug dealing charge stemming from a Milford PD investigation. Contact was made with Johnson and he was taken into custody without incident. During a search of Johnson’s person, detectives located two (2) and a half bundles of suspected heroin (32 dosages). Johnson was transported back to Milford PD.

Once back at Milford PD, Johnson was charged with 2nd offense- Manufactures, Delivers, Or Possesses With Intent To Manufacture, Deliver A Controlled Substance. Johnson had a presentment through the Justice of the Peace Court 2 in reference to the new charge as well as his outstanding capias. Johnson was committed to the Department of Correction in default of $10,000.00 USC secured bail on the new charge and $100,000.00 cash bail on the capias. Johnson was ordered to appear in both Kent County Superior Court and Kent County Court of Common Pleas at a later date reference to the new charge and capias.
