Santa Arrives in Downtown Milford

Nov 30 2019 /

Santa’s arrival to Downtown Milford brought warm smiles to the faces of hundreds of children on Small Business Saturday, November 30. Santa was accompanied by his hard-working elves and arrived on a blazing red antique fire truck from the Carlisle Fire Company, led by the Milford Police Dept.

The annual Santa Claus House has been a Milford tradition in downtown with photographic records dating back to the 1940s. Six years ago, with the help of countless volunteers, Downtown Milford, Inc. was able to provide a brand new house for local children, which currently stands on Walnut Street in downtown Milford.

Santa will receive each child and listen to their holiday dreams and wishes every Friday evening 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., on Saturdays and Sundays from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and Monday, December 23 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Every child will receive a candy cane, picture with Santa and a locally-made stocking filled with candy by Milford Senior Center volunteers. Pets are welcome too and will recieve a treat donated by Fur-Baby Pet Resort.

The 2019 Santa House is sponsored by Bayhealth, Causey Mansion Bed & Breakfast, First State Manufacturing, Gallery 37, Irish Rose, Milford Parks & Recreation Dept., Nadia Zychal Decorative Painting, Not Too Shabby, Tax Chicks, The Chronicle, the Cullotta and Progar families, Larry Hughes, and Sara Pletcher.
