For the fifth year in a row, Carlisle Fire Company will be hosting Operation Santa across Milford and surrounding communities. Santa Claus will be riding a firetruck through the streets of the Greater Milford Area while passing out candy canes to all. The event will take place on Sundays December 8 and 15 from 12 to 5pm. Residents will be able to hear air horns and sirens, when Santa is near.

“We continue to do this solely for the community. We want the community to know that we care about them and appreciate their support all year long, and this is just one of the ways we can give back in a fun way. We want to be there for the joy in everyone’s life, not just for the sad times,” said Ryan Knowles, Member of Carlisle Fire Company.

The Carlisle Fire Department will attempt to hit almost every street in the city of Milford but with time restraints this may not always be possible. Members of Carlisle ask that residents go to their closest intersection and meet Santa there if he does not pass directly in front of their house.

“Our favorite part is that each year the crowd turnout keeps growing. The smiles from all ages, from the tiny kids to the seniors in our community,” said Knowles. “We hope that they know we are there from them, that we actually care and enjoy giving back to our community and our supporters.”

An all volunteer organization, the men and women of Carlisle Fire Department are driven by their love of community and will continue to host fire prevention events throughout the year. The organization is currently accepting application for members in many different roles within the company. For more information individuals are encouraged to visit http://www.carlisle42.com.
