On 12.17.2019 at approximately 7:46 pm, officers from the Milford Police Department responded to the 200 block of North Street to a report of a possible assault. Investigation revealed following a confrontation Robert L. Lewis, 39 of Milford, left the area to later reportedly return with a baseball bat. Mr. Lewis then allegedly began to swing the bat at the two victims, striking one of them. Mr. Lewis then reportedly struck a nearby vehicle multiple times with the bat, causing considerable damage. As a result of this investigation a warrant was obtained and Mr. Lewis has been charged with Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony, Aggravated Menacing, Possession of Marijuana, and Criminal Mischief. Mr. Lewis was presented at the Justice of the Peace Court #2, where bail was set at $22,500.00 secured. Mr. Lewis was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution and is scheduled to appear at the Kent County Court of Common Pleas on 01.03.2019 for a Preliminary Hearing.
