Upon arrival, officers learned that there was damage to the rear door of the building and the suspect was still possibly inside. One of Milford Police Department’s K9 units were on scene and after his handler gave several K9 announcements, the suspect, identified as James C West, 40 of Milford, DE, exited the building and surrendered to patrol officers.

West was charged with Burglary 3rd Degree and Criminal Mischief Under $1000: Damage Property. He was committed to the Department of Correction due to his intoxication level on the night of the incident.
