Delaware Center for Excellence in OB/GYN new office location

Delaware Center of Excellence in Obstetrics and Gynecology opened its Milford office in 2015 on Jefferson Avenue in Milford with a goal to provide outstanding, compassionate and individualized women’s care in a welcoming environment. Recently, the practice purchased and is in the process of remodeling a building on Cedar Creek Road directly across from Bayhealth’s Sussex Campus.

“We are dedicated to incorporating evidence-based practices and translating our innovative knowledge of Obstetrics and Gynecology to first class patient care,” Dr. Noel Anupol said. “Myself and two staff members started the practice and have seen tremendous growth since then. Nurse Practitioner Stacey Kemp joined us full-time in September 2018. Ultrasound services are also provided in our office as our patients need them.”

Dr. Anupol is an American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology certified physician with over 20 years’ experience. He strives to be up-to-date on the most recent medical advances and practices in gynecology and obstetrics. He has served as Vice-Chairman as well as Chairman of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department along with many hospital committees, including Bayhealth.

“We are committed to providing our patients with the utmost respect and a dedication to keep them healthy and well-informed,” Dr. Anupol said. “My specialty interests include, but are not limited to minimally invasive surgery, robotic, assisted laparoscopic methods for surgeries like hysterectomy and myomectomy. I also perform incontinence surgery, prolapse and pelvic floor corrections, hysteroscopic surgery and more. We handle low- and high-risk pregnancies also.”

Kemp is a board-certified women’s healthcare nurse practitioner with more than 20 years’ experience. She graduated from Emory University with a diploma in Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner and received her Master of Science from Wesley College. Her focus is on providing outstanding patient care and exceptional personal attention to women of all ages.

“We chose the new location in order to better serve our patients,” Dr. Anupol said. “We believe a new, modern office and a welcoming environment as well as the close proximity to the hospital make it a premier location for women’s health. This prime location is designed to not only pair well with our top-tier services but as a benefit to the community and surrounding area.”

Dr. Anupol suggests that all women see their doctors regularly for preventive care as many wait to see a doctor when there is already a problem. By coming in for an annual pap smear and breast examination, women have an opportunity to screen for cancer, STDs and to discuss any concerns they may have with their doctor before they become advanced.

“The best thing about what we do is seeing our patients through so many different parts of their life,” Dr. Anupol said. “Our specialty has the unique opportunity to support women of all ages. We are able to see our patients grow and we can form lasting relationships as we see them throughout their lives, from the first visit to annual care to prenatal/postnatal care and through menopause.”

The biggest challenge the practice has had to deal with is COVID-19 as they have a strong desire to keep their patient’s safe and healthy. Doing so promotes healthy deliveries, surgeries and office visits. The office has limited patients entering the office, implemented strict COVID-19 screenings for anyone entering or leaving the building. The staff cleans and disinfects thoroughly between every patient as well.

Dr. Anupol plans to have the new location open around February 2021. Office hours at the current location are Monday through Wednesday from 8 AM to 5 PM with the office closed between 12 and 1 PM. On Thursday, office hours are 1 PM to 8 PM and they are closed on Friday. Anyone interested can make an appointment by calling 302-503-0741.
