Delaware Diabetes Coalition goes virtual with Annual Expo

Given the disruption of in-person events due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Delaware Diabetes Coalition is putting their Annual Diabetes Wellness Expo online during National Diabetes Month – November 2020.  Virtual Education Sessions will be held Thursday, Nov. 12 and Thursday, Nov. 19 at 10:00 a.m., 12:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. each day.  These sessions are free for the public to watch live and/or recorded on their own time.

The Expo brings together healthcare providers, businesses, diabetes-related organizations, and others to promote diabetes self-management and a healthier lifestyle for people with diabetes.  Presented by health leaders in our community, these virtual education sessions will well-equip attendees to better manage their diabetes.

Sessions will include the importance of eye screenings, taking charge of advance directives, the role of diabetes alert dogs and dining with diabetes, plus a few more.

All sessions will be live on Zoom and attendees must pre-register for the sessions they wish to watch live or to receive the recording.  Register online at https://bit.ly/DDCOnline.

A complete agenda, speaker biographies, and sponsor information can be found online at www.dediabetescoalition.org under the Wellness Expo menu.

This event is free of charge thanks in part to our sponsors: Diabetes & Heart Disease Prevention & Control Program, Omnipod DASH® Insulin Management System, V-Go, YMCA’s Diabetes Prevention Program and Fur Baby Pet Resort.

Visit www.dediabetescoalition.org or the event Facebook page for more info.

Plus, save the date!  The rescheduled the 19th Annual Diabetes Wellness Expo in Dover is set for Tuesday, April 27, 2021, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

The Delaware Diabetes Coalition, Inc. (DDC) is a statewide nonprofit organization comprised of a network of healthcare organizations working together to improve the lives of all people in Delaware affected by diabetes through awareness, prevention, identification, dissemination of services and advocacy.
