Know you want a test week of Thanksgiving? State’s got your back

State health officials expect lots of people to want COVID-19 tests next week for themselves, students returning from school or others.

And they’re ready for that with free drive-through and walk-up testings up and down the state Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Some on Monday and Tuesday will last for 12 hours, from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m.

The testings are aimed at college students returning from school, but open to all.

One reason that health officials want people to be tested in that most people who test positive have no symptoms and no idea they are infected, but they’re able to infect other people.

Health officials recommended Tuesday that college kids who have not been tested before they left school wear a mask around family and try to avoid close contact until they can be tested and the results come back.

Here’s the list. Below that, permanent testing sites are listed in graphics, but will not be open on Thanksgiving.
