Carlisle Fire Co. brings back Operation Santa Run

Celebrating its seventh year, Carlisle Fire Company will bring back “Operation Santa Run” to the children of Milford. According to Ryan Knowles, chairman of the event, the fire company felt this was an excellent way to show support for the community after all the support shown to them throughout the year.

“This is just a small amount we can give back to a community that supports us so much all throughout the year,” Knowles said. “Santa will ride on one of our fire engines throughout Milford neighborhoods on Sunday December 13 and December 20. We do this during the daytime hours due to safety reasons.”

Knowles stated that Santa will ride through the Kent County portion of Milford on December 13 and the Sussex County portion on December 20. The Kent County route will begin at 12 Noon on Sunday, December 13, starting at North Shore Drive and traveling throughout the Kent County portion of Milford until 5 PM. On Sunday, December 20, Santa will begin the Sussex County route at 12 Noon starting at Route 113 and Seabury Avenue. Santa will continue traveling throughout the Sussex County portions of Milford until around 5 PM that afternoon. A detailed schedule with times when Santa will arrive in various neighborhoods can be found on the Carlisle Fire Company Facebook page.

“If Santa will not be traveling directly down your street, we ask that you meet him at the closest intersection,” Knowles said. “We also ask that you do not approach the fire trucks as we cannot stop. Our main goal is to keep you safe. Although we have a schedule on our Facebook page, keep in mind that those times are approximate. Please be patient with us as we are dependent upon traffic and other factors that may make us a little bit early or a little bit late.”
