Wilmington Bride-to-Be Wins $100,000 Delaware Lottery Prize

A 32-year-old Wilmington woman claimed a $100,000 top prize in the Delaware Lottery’s 100X THE CELEBRATION instant game, marking the first major lottery win of her life. (Graphic by Delaware LIVE)

A Wilmington woman is celebrating more than her upcoming wedding after winning a $100,000 top prize playing the Delaware Lottery’s 100X THE CELEBRATION instant game.

The 32-year-old Delaware native, who chose not to publicly release her name, claimed her prize Aug. 18 at Delaware Lottery headquarters in Dover. She told lottery officials the win was the first major prize she has received while playing the Delaware Lottery.

According to the Delaware Lottery, the woman said she was in disbelief after discovering she had won $100,000 and immediately contacted family members to share the news. She plans to use part of her winnings to help pay for her upcoming wedding.

The winning ticket was purchased at Naaman’s Beverage Mart Inc., located at 109 Naamans Road in Claymont.

“The Delaware Lottery couldn’t be happier for this winner, and it’s incredibly meaningful to us that her prize will help pay for her wedding celebration,” said Helene Keeley, director of the Delaware Lottery. “We love hearing stories about the ways Delawareans plan to use a lottery prize — whether that means having a little extra to help pay for a wedding, adding to their savings, or anything in between. The 100X THE CELEBRATION instant game launched in 2025 as part of the Delaware Lottery’s 50th anniversary celebration and originally featured two $100,000 top prizes. Players can also win prizes ranging from $20 to $20,000.

The $20 scratch-off game still had one $100,000 top prize remaining as of Aug. 19, according to the Delaware Lottery.
